ന്യൂഡൽഹി: ഇരുചക്രവാഹനങ്ങളിൽ അപകടകരമായ സ്റ്റണ്ടുകളും ഹാൻഡിലിൽ നിന്ന് കൈവിട്ട് വാഹനം ഓടിക്കുന്ന പ്രവണതയും നിയന്ത്രിക്കാൻ പുതിയ സുരക്ഷാ സംവിധാനങ്ങളുമായി കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാർ. ഇരുചക്ര വാഹനങ്ങളുടെ ഹാൻഡിലിൽ രണ്ട് കൈകളും ഉണ്ടെന്ന് ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്ന ത്രിതല ‘ഹാൻഡ്സ് ഫ്രീ’ സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ നിർബന്ധമാക്കാനാണ് നീക്കം.
ഗതാഗത മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന് കീഴിലുള്ള ഓട്ടോമോട്ടീവ് ഇൻഡസ്ട്രി സ്റ്റാൻഡേഡ്സ് കമ്മിറ്റി (AISC) ഇതിനായുള്ള കരട് മാനദണ്ഡം തയ്യാറാക്കി. വാഹന നിർമാതാക്കളുടെ പ്രതിനിധികളും സമിതിയിലെ അംഗങ്ങളാണ്.
പുതിയ സംവിധാനപ്രകാരം വാഹനം ഓടിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കെ ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു കൈ ഹാൻഡിലിൽ നിന്ന് മാറ്റിയാൽ മൂന്ന് സെക്കൻഡിനുള്ളിൽ ഡിസ്പ്ലേ മുന്നറിയിപ്പും ഓഡിയോ അലർട്ടും ലഭിക്കും. എട്ട് സെക്കൻഡിലധികം കൈകൾ ഹാൻഡിലിൽ ഇല്ലാത്ത സാഹചര്യമുണ്ടായാൽ വാഹനത്തിന്റെ വേഗം സ്വയം കുറയുന്ന ‘കോസ്റ്റ് ഡൗൺ മോഡ്’ പ്രവർത്തനക്ഷമമാകും.
അതേസമയം രണ്ട് കൈകളും ശരിയായ രീതിയിൽ ഹാൻഡിലിൽ ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ എൻജിൻ സ്റ്റാർട്ട് ആകാത്ത ഇഗ്നിഷൻ ലോക്ക് സംവിധാനവും നിർബന്ധമാക്കും. സുരക്ഷാ ഫീച്ചറുകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതോടെ ഇരുചക്രവാഹനങ്ങളുടെ വിലയിൽ ചെറിയ വർധനവുണ്ടാകാനിടയുണ്ടെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോർട്ട്.

The Central Government is planning to introduce new safety technologies in two-wheelers to prevent dangerous hands-free bike stunts. The proposed system will detect whether both hands are on the handlebar and issue audio-visual warnings if a rider removes a hand.
