പാലക്കാട്: വാളയാറിൽ പാമ്പുകടിയേറ്റ് ചികിത്സയിലായിരുന്ന കർഷകൻ മരിച്ചു. വാളയാർ പുലാമ്പാറ സ്വദേശിയായ 64-കാരൻ മാരിമുത്തുവാണ് മരിച്ചത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ ഏതാനും ദിവസങ്ങളായി പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലാ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ ചികിത്സയിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്ന അദ്ദേഹം തിങ്കളാഴ്ച വൈകിട്ടോടെയാണ് മരണത്തിന് കീഴടങ്ങിയത്.
മെയ് 26-ന് വീടിന് മുന്നിൽ നിൽക്കുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് മാരിമുത്തുവിന് പാമ്പുകടിയേറ്റത്. ഉടൻ തന്നെ ബന്ധുക്കൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പാലക്കാട് ജില്ലാ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ എത്തിച്ച് ചികിത്സ ലഭ്യമാക്കിയിരുന്നു. ആരോഗ്യനില ഗുരുതരമായതിനാൽ വിദഗ്ധ ചികിത്സ തുടരുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് മരണം സംഭവിച്ചത്.
മൃതദേഹം നിലവിൽ ആശുപത്രി മോർച്ചറിയിൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്. പോസ്റ്റ്മോർട്ടം നടപടികൾ പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയ ശേഷം മൃതദേഹം ബന്ധുക്കൾക്ക് വിട്ടുനൽകുമെന്ന് ആശുപത്രി അധികൃതർ അറിയിച്ചു.
