Palakkad ജില്ലയിലെ കോങ്ങാട് തടുക്കശ്ശേരി നാഗൻകുളങ്ങര ക്ഷേത്രോത്സവത്തിനിടെ ആനയിടഞ്ഞ് പാപ്പാൻ മരിച്ചു. കൊല്ലങ്കോട് ഗോവിന്ദൻകുട്ടി എന്ന ആനയാണ് ഇടഞ്ഞത്. ഗുരുതരമായി പരിക്കേറ്റ പാപ്പാൻ രാമനെ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവൻ രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല.
ശീവേലിക്കിടെയാണ് ആന വിരണ്ടോടിയത്. വീടുകളിലേക്ക് ഓടാൻ ശ്രമിച്ച ആനയെ തളയ്ക്കുന്നതിനിടെയാണ് അപകടം ഉണ്ടായത്. നിലവിൽ എലിഫന്റ് സ്ക്വാഡും പാപ്പാൻമാരും ചേർന്ന് ആനയെ നിയന്ത്രണത്തിലാക്കാൻ ശ്രമം തുടരുകയാണ്.
A mahout died after an elephant ran amok during a temple festival in Palakkad. The elephant, named Govindakutty, turned violent during the ritual procession. The injured mahout succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Efforts are ongoing by the elephant squad to bring the animal under control.
